Worth The Hype? – Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil

When I saw the announcement that Benefit are re-doing their entire brow range this month, I was beyond excited! Alongside repackaging some of their well loved original products, they are coming out with multiple new products to join the line too. One of the most hyped products was the the Goof Proof Brow Pencil and luckily, Elle Magazine are giving us a chance to try it out this month before it launches!

Initially, I was seriously impressed with the packaging! It is so cute and quirky, very similar to the likes of Soap and Glory! The pencil is very sleek but chunky enough to be comfortable to hold.

The colour included with Elle is shade number 2 which is absolutely perfect for me. It is a mid brown shade with very ashy undertones which stops it looking gingery when applied! It is a diamond shape pencil with the points allowing you to get sharper edges and the wide centre allows large areas to be filled with ease. I actually really liked this featured as I have quite full brows and found that when the pencil is too thin it simply takes me too long to use.

When I originally swatched this on my hand, I was disappointed as near enough no product transferred to my hand. I suspected the formula was just too hard but wanted to give it a good try on my brows first before deciding. I have used this exclusively for the last 5 days and I have actually been really impressed. I don’t know what was happening that first time I swatched it but the colour pay-off when used on the brows is great! It blends in seamlessly with my own brow hairs and you can press on lighter or harder depending on the colour you are looking for. The only thing I would say is that it doesn’t look as perfect at the end of the day compared to the start which is something I don’t experience when using brow powders.

I have actually really enjoyed using this product and I have a feeling I will be purchasing the full size when it launches as this is definitely quicker and more travel friendly than using powder. However, for a long lasting even brow, I do still think I prefer brow powders but this comes a close second. Well done benefit, if the rest of the range is like this then it is sure to be a serious hit and I can’t wait to try more. I know that they have also repackaged my beloved Brow-Zings so I am intrigued to see that too!

Did you get your hands on one of these? What did you think?

Much Love

xoxo

  1. I had read online somewhere that this is meant to only adhere to areas of skin where you have hairs, e.g. brows! So maybe that’s why it didn’t swatch well initially? I used this for the first time today & I’m impressed so far as well. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the brow range at the end of the month.
